A FASHIONABLY FABULOUS YEAR!

It has been the most wonderful year at PDG. We were just voted
Best Design Firm
for Best of Our Valley by Arizona Foothills Magazine.

This holiday season one of our recently designed homes was the background for the Arizona Foothills Magazine December Fashion Shoot. PDG designed this set for their Holiday Issue.

The spectacular dining room, seats up to 20 people, and gave a large space to photograph. The two chandeliers make for a great backdrop for holiday high fashion.

We are extremely grateful for our family and friends and all of your continued support. This year has been filled with amazing projects and partnerships. Lets ring in the New Year and all it has to bring.

Happy Holidays!

We will be closed from Dec 24-Jan 2

THANKSGIVING

As you get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving with Family and friends here are some ideas...

  • Our favorite pumpkins are the Albino Fairytale pumpkins, which can be found at your local Trader Joe's.  You can use them as a centerpiece and have a simple arrangement.  They can also be used later in pumpkin soup.
  • For the table settings, we use custom place mats in pleather from PDG in a variety of colors and textures.  The ones pictured are a champagne color that go well with a dark wood table.
  • Our Rustic Faience plates were made on a trip to Provence to a place called Moustier.  Stay at La Bastide de Moustier and go to Faience to order these plates.  It is a beautiful place and the food is amazing.
  • Silverware is from Tiffany and is an old classic – great weight and simple.
  • Glassware is from Ralph Lauren.  We use their water goblets as an all purpose wine/water glass.
  • The embroidered napkins are designed to match the plates, can also be ordered through PDG. For an outside source,  Jan de Luz in Napa doeas an extraordinary job.

We hope you have a happy Thanksgiving with family and friends!

TAKE A POWDER

We love working on powder rooms. They are small and compact, but pack a punch visually in a home.

ALL THINGS FRENCH

This lovely French inspired home we designed was recently featured on Home Bunch... an interior design blog which focuses on, "beautiful interiors, luxury estates, celebrity homes and a vibrant design community"...check it out here.

To bring a little France to a friend there is nothing better than Laduree.  Just a phone call away for fresh macaroons.

OUTDOOR LIVING

Outdoor living can be just as important as setting up great entertaining spaces indoors.  Here are some of our suggestions for creating an environment to entertain and relax in.

Images from Palm Design Group
Dining – Be sure to place outdoor dining convenient to the kitchen or outdoor kitchen.  It makes for much more relaxed entertaining when convenience is a factor.

LightingHurricanes can be used to light walkways, set ambiance in a grouping for seating, or light a dining table.  Use the new LED flameless candles.  And you don’t have to buy multiple hurricanes, move them around based on your needs.  Outdoor hanging lanterns can also be set on a dimmer to set the mood.
Fabric – With the Arizona sun, using a durable outdoor fabric is a must!  We love Perennials.  It comes in a variety of colors and can be luxurious or vibrant, whatever suits the home.  We can help guide you to the right selection and order this to-the-trade only line.  Use an accent color from the house to base either the main or accessory pillows from.  This way, the inside and out are in harmony.
Seat Groupings – Create a conversation pit.  Be certain there is adequate seating and tables for the groups you like to entertain.  Extra wide and deep seating helps keep it casual.
Create A Hideaway – A shady, remote part of the garden can seem like a world away from the chaos of what’s going on in the rest of the yard on a busy day.  Set up a small table and chairs of a lounge chair and ottoman to enjoy these relaxing spaces.
